The Christian life is not by any means easy because we are called to be “Christ like,” to live a life patterned after Jesus Christ whom we profess to be our Lord and Savior.  Therefore, it becomes imperative for all who claim to be followers of Christ to be like Him.  One of the key attributes of Jesus is His servant attitude as was written in Matthew 28:26-28, “whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

This is truly a tall order for all Christians, but the promised Holy Spirit enables us to fulfill our duties as members of the body of Christ, despite the seemingly difficult challenge for us.

I. Build the Church by living a godly life (v. 1-6)

II. Build the Church by using our spiritual gifts (v. 7-16)

It is my prayer that at the end of our time today, we would be encouraged to serve God through the church by using the different gifts He has so generously given to us so that we may help build the body of Christ.

Would you prayerfully consider ceasing from being fence sitters and instead be involved by serving in the various ministries of the church?  Please visit our “Belong Booth” after this morning’s service.
